Disable SCIM and remove groups

If your company has an active SCIM integration but wishes to change that and remove the existing groups without affecting the users, this guide will take you through the steps necessary to do so.

NOTE: Uniqkey is working on getting better at reading data from Azure AD. This guide has been tested by us and is meant to be followed exactly as written - we cannot guarantee a successful deactivation of SCIM if this guide is not followed as intended.

1) Login to Azure AD and go to the Enterprise Application that connects Azure with Uniqkey.

Under Users and Groups where you currently have assigned groups, add ALL users individually to the provisioning. This ensures that users will stay unaffected. If a user ISN'T directly assigned during this step, they will be removed from your company in Uniqkey.

In this example, I have created a test company. The users Info Test1 and Info Test3 has been provisioned to Uniqkey with SCIM using the group IT - which is the group I want to remove. I have - without removing the group from the provisioning - assigned the users directly.

2) Remove the users from the group.

I haven't tested how it affects the members in the group if it still has users in it when it gets removed from Uniqkey.

3) Remove the group from the provisioning.

4) Let the provisioning run a full cycle.

I haven't tested what happens if you run a provisioning-on-demand, so I won't recommend doing so. Your groups should now be removed from app.uniqkey.eu - if not, try refreshing the page.

5) Disable SCIM.

Go to app.uniqkey.eu -> Settings -> Integrations: Delete secret token.

Congratulations, you've now disabled SCIM and removed your groups.
