Uniqkey EN For admins Feature overview Search (SAM intro) Groups After you update your existing groups to new resource sets and groups, here is what we recommend you do. If you're unsure how to update your groups, see this guide for help.A separate guide for managing your new resource sets can be found here. Groups now refer solely to people. Groups can have access to multiple resource sets, and administrators can define permissions for each group. Different groups can have different permissions for the same resource set. Group name Description Resource set name Permissions Management Department managers, team leads, etc. HR Resources Can view, edit, copy, add and delete data. HR department HR staff. HR Resources Can only view data. The same group can have different permissions for different resource sets. Group name Description Resource set name Permissions IT Admins IT administrators IT Services Can view, edit, copy, add and delete data. Management Department managers, team leads, etc. IT Services Can only view data. Rework your old groupsNow that Structured Access Management offers you more control over employees and access, we recommend creating groups based on who rather than what they have access to.For example, where you may have had an HR group where members had equal access to data, you can now split this into a HR Managers and HR Employees to ensure everyone has access but with different permissions. To do this, navigate to the Uniqkey admin portal -> Directory and Access -> Groups. You can either edit an existing group, or create a new group. Users can be part of multiple groups, so it might be easier to create a new group.Do so by clicking the Create group in the upper right corner.Once the group is visible in the Group overview, click the name. From the Overview tab, you can see helpful information about the group, like total resources it has access to, and through which resource sets.In the first version of SAM, it's not possible to give the group access to resource sets from this page. This will be implemented in a future update. To add members, open the Members tab.Click the Add members button in the upper right corner, and select your employee(s).Confirm the addition of members - this can be done with multiple users at once. Give access to resource setsTo allow groups access to resource sets, this can be done either from the Directory and Access -> Resource sets -> [resource set name].In the Resource sets overview, find the relevant resource set and click it.Under People, click the add button. Select the group(s) you wish to give access and click Next.Assign a Policy if you wish. If you don't use policies, click Next.Decide the Permissions for the group and click Add. The group(s) now have access to the resource set.
