Uniqkey EN For users Daily use Search How to reset your Master Password In this guide, you will learn how to reset your Master Password that gives you access to your Uniqkey account.The Master Password works as the decryption key for your password vault. It is saved using zero-knowledge technology, meaning the customer support team cannot access your user-generated master password. The method of which you reset your master password depends on what type of account priviledge your organisation administrators allow. Choose method of resetting your master passwordHow to reset your master password as a phone-required user:Open Your Uniqkey AppOn your phone, locate and launch the Uniqkey app.Tap on “Sign in”.Tap “Forgot your Master Password?”Enter the email associated with your Uniqkey account and press “Send request”. Wait for Administrator ApprovalYour reset request will be sent to your admin for approval.The admin will find your request in the Uniqkey Admin Portal, under the "Requests" section in the left menu.Receive and Use Verification CodeOnce your admin approves the reset request, you’ll receive an email with a verification code.If the Uniqkey app was closed, reopen it and proceed to the “Got the verification code?” screen.Enter the code you received in the email.Choose Your New Master PasswordSet your new Master Password.Ensure it is secure and something you can remember.Avoid using a password that you use for other accounts.This guide is for users who's organisation does not have 'require mobileauthentication' enabled - in other words, if your organisation allows you to use Uniqkey without a mobile phone.Create a reset requestClick on your Uniqkey browser extension icon.Move the slider to "Email".Select "Forgot your Master Password?".Enter the email to your Uniqkey account.Wait for Administrator ApprovalYour reset request will be sent to your admin for approval.The admin will find your request in the Uniqkey Admin Portal, under the "Requests" section in the left menu.Receive and Use Verification CodeOnce your admin approves the reset request, you’ll receive an email with a verification code.Enter this authentication code in the field on screen.Create a new master password that satisfies the security conditions.Recovery for SSO is different from the other two reset options. If you are an SSO-user, your master password is an automatically generated string, rather than a memorable password. This means that, to log back in using SSO, you are required to 'recover' said string. Create a recover requestClick on your Uniqkey browser extension icon.Move the slider to "SSO".Select "Recover SSO".Enter the email to your Uniqkey account.Wait for Administrator ApprovalYour reset request will be sent to your admin for approval.The admin will find your request in the Uniqkey Admin Portal, under the "Requests" section in the left menu.You will receive an authentication code on email once the admin have approved the request.Enter this authentication code in the field on screen.Now you will either be prompted to login to your Microsoft account or logged in directly to your Uniqkey, if you are already logged in to your Microsoft account in the browser.
