Uniqkey Release 2.42: Single Sign-On (SSO) ready for Phoneless Users

Have more questions? Submit a request

Release 2.42.0 introduces Microsoft Entra ID Single Sign On support for phoneless users. Admins can now enable SSO directly from the Admin Portal, making it easier to onboard and support users who do not use mobile based authentication, while maintaining strong security and centralised identity management.

What's new

  • Microsoft Entra ID SSO for phoneless users. Users can sign in to Uniqkey with their Microsoft account, without needing to remember or enter a separate Uniqkey password.
  • Automatic user provisioning. New phoneless users can be created automatically during onboarding, reducing manual setup for admins.
  • Admin controlled reauthentication. Admins can define how often phoneless users need to reauthenticate, helping organisations balance usability and security.

How it works

  1. An admin enables SSO and configures the Microsoft Entra ID tenant in the Admin Portal.
  2. The user selects Sign in with Microsoft during onboarding or login.
  3. Microsoft authenticates the user.
  4. Uniqkey provisions and manages the user account.
  5. Access is granted securely and seamlessly.

Recovery and new devices

If a user changes browser, clears browser data, receives a new computer, or reinstalls their browser, access can be restored through the SSO setup flow.

The user selects Recover SSO, an administrator approves the request, and access is restored.
