In this guide we will go through the best steps to take and most common errors when you are not able to use Uniqkey to log in to a website.
Example 1. The Uniqkey login icons are grey
If the Uniqkey icons are grey and not clickable, this generally means that Uniqkey does not recognise a login for this specific website in your keychain. If you click on the Uniqkey browser extension icon, a login should be visible for the website you're currently using if not - here are a few ways to troubleshoot as to why this happens:
You do not have a login for the website.
Manually enter your login into the login fields, this will cause Uniqkey to prompt a 'save'-popup.
The URL noted for your login is incorrect - this can especially happen if the initial login page redirects you to another site.
If Uniqkey saved the wrong URL for the login, it won't recognise the page you are on. To edit this, click on the Uniqkey browser extension icon, navigate to and click on the login, press the 3 dots in the upper right corner and choose 'Edit'. Copy paste the websites URL into the 'URL'-field.
You have not paired the browser to your Uniqkey mobileapp (only for users who are set up with the Uniqkey mobileapp).
Click on the Uniqkey browser extension icon, press 'sign in' and scan the QR code on screen with your Uniqkey mobile-app's build in QR scanner.
Example 2. Uniqkey does not properly autofill the input fields, icon is unresponsive or there is no icon present
If you experience any sort of issues with a specific site, we urge you to report the site to our support staff.
To do this, click on the Uniqkey browser extension icon and press the report site button '!'. Select the type of issue you are experiencing, make sure the correct URL is in the form and to better help the support staff, describe where on the site and how you experience the issue in the 'additional info'-text box.
Example 3. Uniqkey does not have the correct information
If the website you're attempting to log in to prompts you with an error such as "wrong email/password entered", it could be that the Uniqkey does not have the correct information.
Make sure to double check, whether the information noted in the login is correct, such as the password.
