If your logins have been deleted:
To delete data from a user or group, access to the Uniqkey mobile app is always required, which is unlocked using a PIN code or biometrics.
It is not possible to delete or modify data via the browser extension without confirming the action in the app.
If the worst happens and an unauthorized person gains access to a user’s Uniqkey app and deletes all of the user’s data, all company data will still be preserved in your Uniqkey Admin Portal.
It will remain there until an administrator deletes it permanently (or until your automatic cleanup removes it, if you use that feature).
It is possible to restore the data during the entire period you have selected under Settings → Data Cleanup and Retention → General Retention Period.
(Minimum 30 days, maximum 5 years)
If an administrator’s phone is stolen:
If an administrator’s phone is stolen and an unauthorized person gains access to the Uniqkey app (via PIN code/biometrics), they may be able to sign in to the Uniqkey Admin Panel and delete company data on behalf of users.
However, the data can still be restored in accordance with your chosen retention period.
If Uniqkey is hacked and your data is stolen:
We only have access to metadata — meaning that even if our security were to fail (which has never happened so far) and unauthorized individuals gained access to your data, it would still be in encrypted form.
To decrypt your data, a security key is required, which exists only in the Uniqkey mobile app of administrators and the individual user who owns the data.
Our lack of insight into your data therefore serves as an additional layer of security, even if your data were to end up outside Uniqkey.
If Uniqkey is offline:
In the event that our servers are offline, you will always be able to access your data in the Uniqkey mobile app.
This applies to logins, credit cards, and secure notes.
